The canvas on the back has aging to it, and
you can see that the outer part of the frame
was added. The oil painting is in Great - Good
Condition with some cracking to the paint.

MOUNT OF HOLY CROSS HISTORY:
Located in the Colorado Rocky Mountains near the
ghost town of Holy Cross City. Mount of the Holy
Cross is the northernmost 14,000-foot mountain. It
was named for the distinctive cross-shaped
snowfield on the northeast face of the Mountain.
Under the Forest Service administration, the
mountain was proclaimed "Holy Cross National
Monument" by Herbert Hoover on May 11, 1929.
This lasted as long as the Holy Cross on the
mountain itself. Over the years both visitation to the
Mountain and the right arm of the cross fell off and
the Federal designation was revoked in 1950. In
1950, it was returned to the Forest Service and lost
its National Monument status
